An elk herd, a hot air balloon launch, an historic steam powered locomotive amidst snow capped mountain cliffs
I woke up to look out my front door and see an elk herd outside as the Animas Valley winter balloon launch was taking place. I creeped in to get a shot of the elk with the balloons in the background when the historic steam powered Durango Narrow Gauge train came chugging through. The elk went one way, the train the other, and I didn’t know what to focus on! The elk, the train, or the balloons under the gorgeous mountain cliffs? Truly a magical Colorado moment!
