The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been carrying out defensive and offensive operations against Hezbollah on the northern border, according to a statement from the IDF spokesperson, RDML Daniel Hagari.

Hezbollah has aligned itself with Hamas during the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and is attempting to disrupt the lives of Israeli residents in the north,. The IDF has been targeting Hezbollah to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.

Since October 7, the IDF has focused on a new defensive effort along the border with Lebanon to protect northern residents and damage the capabilities of Hezbollah. The IDF has deployed three divisions along the border, and has prevented attacks by Hezbollah, including the attempted firing of anti-tank missiles and rockets at Israeli communities.

Moreover, the IDF has been carrying out offensive operations against Hezbollah, targeting over 3,400 military targets belonging to the organization across southern Lebanon. Hezbollah has embedded its infrastructure with the civilian population to make it difficult to target, but the IDF has been carrying out strikes based on precise intelligence, with over 120 observation positions, 40 weapons storage facilities, and 40 command and control centers used by terrorists targeted so far. The IDF has also targeted Hezbollah's military infrastructures in Syria.

According to the IDF spokesperson, the third effort has been increasing readiness for military conflict, with a series of training and exercises carried out to ensure that the IDF is prepared for any major operation.
