Thai couple spray guests with laughing gas at bizarre wedding recpetion
A Thai couple sprayed their wedding guests with laughing gas during the after-ceremony party.
Footage shows the groom, Anupong Munkong, unleashing the contents of a blue nitrous oxide tank while his bride, Sakaewan Onnom, danced beside him on the platform in Phetchaburi province, Thailand, on January 27.
After around a minute, the groom put down the tank and danced with his wife while an event organiser held a second tank near them.
The couple continued the party with their guests with the laughing gas - also known as hippy crack - tanks and danced together during the bizarre reception party, which came after a traditional Buddhist marriage ceremony with a monk.
A guest said: 'It was fun, everybody had a great time. Spraying the gas was a funny stunt and nobody complained.'
Laughing gas, or nitrous oxide, can be toxic if inhaled in large enough quantities. It can lead to oxygen deprivation since the nitrous oxide displaces the oxygen needed to breathe. This oxygen deprivation can damage the brain, lungs and other organs.
Exposure to very high concentrations of laughing gas for even just a few minutes can also cause a person to pass out and suffocate due to lack of oxygen, making higher doses fatal.
In the UK, it emerged at the weekend that a Premier League star has become the first footballer to go to rehab for an addiction to laughing gas.
The Sun newspaper reported that player was admitted to a medical centre after his worried family asked his club for help.
