A mass of snow suddenly cascaded from a house roof like a waterfall, striking a woman down in southern China.

The terrifying CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Changde in Hunan Province on February 4.

The alarming sound of the snow prompted her family members to rush outside, where they found her under the snow and quickly assisted her to her feet.

The victim, identified as Ms. Xu, recounted the harrowing experience, explaining that the snow slid off the roof after melting, carrying chunks of ice with it.

Despite the shock and immediate pain, Ms. Xu assured that she sustained no serious injuries, though she felt pain in her lower back and spine where the snow had hit her. Describing the impact as akin to being pummeled by sandbags, she expressed relief that her head and neck had been spared.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
