The harrowing incident unfolded just before 9:30 AM on January 31, 2024, when Yonkers police units rushed to the top level of a parking garage within the 4th Precinct's jurisdiction. Reports indicated that a woman was on the verge of harming herself, prompting a rapid and coordinated response from law enforcement.

Officers from the 4th Precinct swiftly established a secure perimeter around the scene as the Emergency Service Unit sprang into action on the rooftop to begin the delicate rescue mission. Officer Sandro Vazquez bravely approached the distraught woman, engaging her in conversation and imploring her to step away from the perilous ledge.

Meanwhile, Officers Michael Mirabella, Jason Philipps, Richard Fernandez, and Brendan Moore worked seamlessly to set up a rope safety system, ensuring the safety of all involved in the high-stakes operation.
