At a small steamed bun shop in Nantong City, located in east China's Jiangsu Province, an incredibly tall steamer set has turned the shop into a popular destination for food enthusiasts and curious passersby.

The towering steamer set boasts an impressive 57 layers and stands over 7 metres tall. Shop employees are required to use an elevator to access the steamers.

A pastry cook at the shop noted a surge in demand for steamed buns as the Chinese New Year approaches, prompting additional layers of steamers.

Su Xiuping, the Pastry cook, said: "Our steamed buns are made using traditional methods, fermented with rice wine. They boast a delicious flavour, chewy texture, and unique taste that is highly favoured by locals. With the New Year festivities drawing near, the demand has skyrocketed, hence the need for a much taller steamer set than usual."
