This footage was filmed and produced 3 February 2024.

On February 3rd, members of the Santa Fe Police Department, known as the "Copsicles," braved the icy waters for the Polar Plunge during the 2024 New Mexico Law Enforcement Torch Run Annual Conference to raise funds for local Special Olympics athletes.

Chief Joye and his team went the extra mile by adding more ice to ensure the water was as cold as possible before taking the plunge. The SFPD Copsicles received praise for their dedication to raising funds for the Special Olympics, with thanks extended to all who supported this important cause.
