Heavy snowfall brought by a low-pressure system battered Tokyo and the rest of Kanto area on Monday, February 5, causing travel disruptions. Warnings for heavy snow were issued for all of Tokyo, Kanagawa, and most of the Kanto-Koshin region.

The Yurikamome train line was suspended between Shinbashi and Shiodome and between Shiodome and Takeshiba stations due to heavy snow, forcing hundreds of passengers to evacuate by walking on the tracks.
