This is the heroic moment a police officer dramatically rescued a passenger from an oncoming train in New York.

Officers from the local police department saved a man's life after he fell onto the subway tracks at the Lafayette Avenue subway station in Brooklyn on January 27.

The event unfolded just after 10:30 AM as the 36-year-old, accompanied by his fiance, tripped and fell onto the southbound C train tracks. Officers Brian Caminero and Azrahul Chowdhury, who were stationed at a nearby subway station, immediately responded to a call placed to emergency services.

As the officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim bleeding from his head just as a southbound C train was approaching.

Quick-thinking Officer Chowdhury used his flashlight to signal the oncoming train to stop, preventing the accident. While Officer Caminero lent a helping hand to the injured man, successfully bringing him up to safety.

The victim was then rushed to the hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Reflecting on the dramatic event, Officer Chowdhury said: 'We were focused on making sure he was in a safe environment, ensuring he gets to see his family and fiancée. This is what we do—to make sure every subway rider goes home safe.'
