Resilient locals used an inflatable paddling pool as a makeshift raft to get through heavy floods in the Philippines.

Footage captured by neighbour Richard Bringuer shows three local men aboard the item navigating the muddy torrents in Davao del Norte, the Philippines, on February 3.

They even invited four of their friends to join in - with all of them laughing as they cruised through the deluge following several days of heavy rain.

The Philippines archipelago - a Spanish settlement for some 400 years - is prone to landslides and heavy flooding due to a low-pressure area causing heavy rainfall. The Davao River reached critical levels, resulting in flooding in the area.
