Argentina's Patagonia region is on high alert as a fire that is burning through the Nahuel Huapi National Park.

The intendancy of the Nahuel Huapi National Park reported this morning that due to a forest fire that affects the southern area of the reserve, all the paths that leave or reach Pampa Linda, Bahia Lopez and Cerrito Llao Llao were closed in a preventive manner, and also access to the Tronador Circuit around Bariloche. As a result of this new disaster, the Patagonian region is on high alert, adding to the still active pockets that have consumed more than 3,500 hectares of native forest in the Los Alerces National Park and part of the province of Chubut.
