On February 6th, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Mojave division issued a warning to the public regarding a road washed away by water in Eastern Kern County. In a video the damage to Redrock Randsburg Road between SR-14 and US-395 was clearly visible, prompting the immediate closure of the affected stretch.

Drivers passing through the area were advised to plan their routes accordingly and seek alternative paths until the necessary repairs could be completed. Authorities strongly cautioned against attempting to bypass road closures or traverse flooded roads and streams, emphasizing the dangers posed by such actions.
