Pakistan-China friendship is rooted in the people, and the spirit of peace and cooperation demonstrated by the iron-clad bilateral relations provides a stabilizing force in the changing world, Pakistani President Arif Alvi has said.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): ARIF ALVI, Pakistani President
"The world is in a flux. Everything is changing. We solve the problems, we help each other in times of crises. And we help each other take everybody along within our countries and in association with other countries. So Pakistan and China (relationship), actually is a good example for the world."

The president said that both Pakistan and China love peace, highlighting the initiatives put forward by China such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) that focuses on people's development so that people can live a stable and healthy life.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ARIF ALVI, Pakistani President
"China has a BRI, movement on these lines throughout Central Asia, now including Pakistan, then also towards Africa. And this has shown to the world a way of cooperating, a way of mutual development, whereby movements of goods, movement of people is made easier. And for international trade, this is good; for development, it is good; for sustainable development, it is good."

Regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Alvi said that the infrastructure, human resources, energy, and industry sectors in the country are being improved with the help of the CPEC. He also expressed appreciation that the loans from China did not come with strings.

As the construction of the CPEC has now entered a new phase of high-quality development, the president envisioned enhanced cooperation with China in the sectors of information technology (IT), agriculture, vehicle manufacturing, etc.

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): ARIF ALVI, Pakistani President
"I look forward to tremendous cooperation in many areas. Number one, I mentioned vehicle manufacturing. Number two, I mentioned, the labor in Pakistan is cheaper, so Chinese companies can invest here. In agriculture, there is a tremendous yield per hectare in China, much more than in many parts of the world. And Pakistan and China can cooperate, and Pakistan has huge land."
