This is the dramatic moment rescuers dug through rocks and debris to pull out a resident buried in a mining landslide in the Philippines.

Footage shows the rescuers battling to unbury a trapped local during the night operation in Masara, Davao De Oro, the Philippines, on February 6.

Local media reports that the resident is in stable condition.

The devastating landslide struck the town of Masa on Tuesday, February 6, destroying houses and burying vehicles, resulting in at least 15 deaths, 31 locals injured, and hundreds missing.

Heavy rain caused the landslide and flooding in parts of the Mindanao region, forcing residents to evacuate into emergency shelters.

The country is prone to typhoons and monsoons, increasing the risk of landslides and heavy flooding.
