David Frei, a father living in Florida, was filming as he cast his rod out into a pond in Fort Lauderdale.

After a successful first two casts, catching a tilapia and a bass, Frei casts his line out again seeing him hook onto something big.

He then reels in another fishing rod, leaving him in disbelief.

"I actually caught a fishing rod. The odds are beyond astronomical. The problem is that even with a video, people still will not believe this actually happened spontaneously and out of the blue. I still can’t get over it," he told Newsflare.

He added: "I went fishing on a local pond here in Florida. My kid didn’t want to come because he said I never catch anything when we go together. I caught back-to-back fish off the first two casts. A beautiful tilapia, and a big bass. So I decided to start recording on the third cast to see if I can go back to back to back."
