A motorist narrowly avoided crashing into a wild Siberian tiger that suddenly ran across the road in northern China.

Dashboard footage filmed in Wangqing County in Jilin Province on February 7, shows a car driving on the Wangluo Highway when a large wild Siberian tiger suddenly crossed from the forest on the right side of the car and swiftly ran into the forest on the left side.

Fortunately, the driver was able to brake in time, averting a collision.

Authorities from the Tianqiaoling Forest Public Security and Forestry Departments of Jilin Province quickly initiated a joint security mechanism upon learning of the situation, patrolling and monitoring to prevent human-tiger conflicts and ensure the safety of both humans and tigers.

With the continued development of the Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park, the population of wild Siberian tigers has increased from 27 to over 50, and leopards from 42 to over 60, respectively, since the national park pilot phase in 2015.

行车记录仪的视频为2月7日上午9点多拍摄，地点位于东北虎豹国家公园范围内的吉林省汪清县境内。当时这位居民正驾车行驶在汪罗线公路上，忽然一只体型硕大的野生东北虎从车右边的山林里横穿上公路，并迅速跑进左侧山林中。由于事发突然，车辆险些与老虎发生碰撞，幸好车速不快，能及时刹住车。获悉相关情况后，吉林天桥岭森林公安及林业部门迅速启动警企联动机制，巡逻监控，预防人虎冲突、确保人虎安全。

随着东北虎豹国家公园建设的持续推进，目前我国境内的野生东北虎、东北豹种群数量分别由2015年国家公园试点时的27只、42只，增长至目前的50只以上、60只以上。
