German tourist 'high on cannabis' rampages through Thai airport
This is the shocking moment a shirtless German tourist who was allegedly high on cannabis rampaged through an airport in Thailand.
Footage shows the tattooed holidaymaker in baggy elephant pants walking barefoot as he punched and scratched at the air, sparking panic among travellers at the Krabi International Airport on February 10.
Tourist police, immigration officers, and airport security later arrived to detain the suspect near the airport's arrival terminal.
Police were able to find and question his friends, who said they had flown on a domestic flight from Bangkok to Krabi province for a beach break. However, upon arrival, the man allegedly attacked them, so they left him on his own.
Officers said they also found stashes of cannabis - now legal in the country - in the German's baggage.
The tourist's friends said smoked cannabis before the flight, and the drugs may have caused him to go on a rampage.
The German man was picked up by his friends after he sobered up.
Cannabis was de-listed as a banned narcotic in Thailand in June 2022.
Bungling Thai authorities are now scrambling to regulate its use as officials report a rising number of marijuana addictions per month and an eruption of tens of thousands of gaudy neon-lit shops selling marijuana.
