An Indian man claimed he found a live worm crawling inside his Cadbury chocolate bar.

Robin Zaccheus bought the Dairy Milk fruit and nut from a local store for 45 INR (0.43 GBP) but said he was shocked when he found an insect wriggling inside the chocolate.

Footage shows the Cadbury bar half-unwrapped while a small worm was seen crawling inside Robin's home in Hyderabad, Telangana on February 9.

The shopper said: ‘I found a worm crawling in the Cadbury chocolate I purchased at Ratnadeep Metro Ameerpet. Is there a quality check for these near-expiry products? Who is responsible for public health hazards?'

Robin said he filed a complaint with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) against DairyMilk India following the incident.

Meanwhile, Mondelez India Foods Private Limited, former Cadbury India Ltd, said in a statement: 'We endeavour to maintain the highest quality standards, and we regret to note that you have had an unpleasant experience.

'Meanwhile, the GHMC promptly acknowledged the incident, indicating their attentiveness to the customer's horrible experience.

'The Concerned Food Safety team@AFCGHMC have been alerted on this issue and the same will be resolved at the earliest.'
