The Givati Brigade of the IDF has recently increased its operations against Hamas' West Khan Yunis Battalion, aiming to degrade the militant group's capabilities and strengthen its control over the area. Through a combination of air and ground strikes, the forces have been targeting densely populated areas where enemy forces are embedded.

In close-quarters combat, tank strikes, sniper ambushes, and aerial attacks, the Givati Brigade has successfully eliminated approximately 100 operatives. One notable instance involved forces identifying a group of operatives loading a suspicious package onto a motorcycle from a residence. An aircraft was directed to eliminate them, resulting in secondary explosions that indicated the presence of weapons.

Another significant incident occurred when a Hamas cell fired an anti-tank missile towards an engineering vehicle of the Givati soldiers. With intelligence guidance, the soldiers located and eliminated the four operatives responsible for the attack.
