Chaos ensued as a leopard unleashed a vicious attack on several forest department officials during an operation to capture the wild animal in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, on February 10.

Footage shared by Range Forest Officier Anand Kumar Arya shows the moment the leopard sprung an attack on officials who had cordoned off the area.

Residents were seen scrambling in fear as the leopard charged towards them.

The leopard was eventually caught and released back into the wild by officials.

In a rare occurrence, a leopard wreaked havoc and launched a brutal attack on the officials of the forest department who had come to rescue it, in northern India's Uttarakhand.

This incident happened in Haldwani on February 10.

Visuals showed the leopard running about on a field as the forest department officials attempted to capture it. The wild animal quickly was in the bushes and wasn't visible as the officers cordoned off the area.

The big cat, in a matter of seconds, jumped out of the bushes and pounced on an official who was bit on his hand. The leopard subsequently went back to the bushes before emerging again and jumping on another official, who was floored by this attack. It then went on to chase few more officials as well as locals.
