SS Richard Montgomery shipwreck on February's lowest tide off Kent, UK
Thames shipwreck SS Richard Montgomery was seen as fully exposed (as is possible) on February's lowest tide off Kent, UK this morning (February 13).
The doomed American Liberty cargo ship sank back in 1944 with 1400 tons of explosives onboard.
The shipwreck lies just 1.5 miles from the town of Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey.
The UK Government plan to remove the shipwreck's three masts this year due to the risk posed if they were to collapse onto the explosive cargo below the waterline.
Footage shows the wreck on this morning's 0.10 metre low tide (February's lowest) along with properties along Sheerness seafront that are just 1.5 miles from the wreck.
