A girl's selfless gesture urged a security guard to prioritise the rescue of a younger friend from an icy pond in central China.

The heartwarming footage was filmed in Xinyang City in Henan Province on February 7.

A security guard Wang Le was on his routine patrol at the Longjiang Spring community when he heard cries for help coming from the direction of the community's artificial lake. Alerted by the ongoing icy conditions due to recent heavy snowfall, Wang swiftly sprang into action, running towards the source of the sound.

Upon reaching the vicinity of the lake, Wang Le found two children, aged around six or seven, struggling in the icy waters, their arms propped up on blocks of ice. The frigid water and their distressing cries indicated the urgency of the situation.

Without hesitation, Wang Le removed his coat and stepped into the bone-chilling lake, reassuring the frightened children while carefully navigating through the ice towards them. During the rescue, the girl even urged Wang Le to save the smaller child first, demonstrating remarkable bravery and compassion.

Despite the bitter cold, Wang's determination and courage prevailed as he successfully brought both children safely back to the shore within minutes of their fall into the water.

Upon reaching dry land, Wang Le handed the children over to his colleagues, who ensured they were safely escorted back to their respective homes. Wang Le discreetly left the scene and returned home to change his clothes.

News of the heroic rescue quickly spread throughout the community, earning Wang praise from residents. However, in his characteristically humble manner, Wang remarked, "Saving lives is instinctive. Every family has children, and I simply did what I had to do." His modest words exemplify the professionalism and noble character of a security guard.

Thanks to the timely rescue, both children suffered no major injuries. "Thank you so much. If it weren't for your prompt action, the outcome could have been unthinkable," one grateful mother expressed her thanks to Wang.

严寒之下，王乐凭借着过人的毅力和勇气，最终将两个孩子平安牵回岸边，孩子从落水到救出，仅用了几分钟的时间。
上岸后，王乐将两个孩子交给了其他同事，他们将孩子各自送回家中。王乐悄然离去，自行回家换了衣物。
救人事件传到小区，受到了大家的称赞。但对于此事，王乐表示：“救人是本能的事，谁家都有小孩，我只是做了我应该做的事。”质朴的话语，体现的却是一名保安人员的专业素养以及高尚情操。
因救援及时，两个孩子身体无大碍。孩子家属也当面对王乐表示了感谢。“谢谢你们，如果不是你们及时发现果断处理，后果将不堪设想”，一位女家长感激地说道。
