STORYLINE:
China's 14th National Winter Games will open in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Saturday.
The Inner Mongolia Ice Sports Training Center, located in Inner Mongolia's northeast Hailar District, Hulun Buir City, is the main venue for the Games. It will host the opening ceremony and all ice events.
Featuring Mongolian cultural elements, the training center is made up of several facilities, including a speed skating hall, a short track speed skating hall, and an ice hockey and curling hall.
It has undergone a series of upgrades on lighting, power supply, and water filtration, to meet the standard for high-level competitions.
According to the center, the original high-energy lighting has been upgraded to reduce energy consumption by 60 to 70%. In addition, the venue is powered by renewable energy sources.
