The 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly of the Heads of State and Government opened on Saturday at the China-aided AU headquarters building in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

The AU headquarters building was inaugurated in 2012. The 100-meter-high skyscraper, funded and built by China, stands as a testament to the friendship between China and Africa.
