In a harrowing turn of events, a prefabricated building site in the northwest of Florence was struck by tragedy on Friday, the 16th of February, as a scaffolding collapsed, trapping workers under the rubble. The brave firefighters of the USAR unit sprang into action, swiftly extracting three workers alive from the debris, in a story of hope amid the looming chaos.

As the rescue efforts unfolded, the search intensified for additional individuals who were reported missing, underscoring the urgency and gravity of the situation. Four teams of emergency responders have been tirelessly working since 9 a.m., navigating the treacherous site and battling against the odds to locate and rescue any remaining survivors.

The dramatic scene was captured in video clips showcasing the relentless efforts of the teams on the ground, the aerial surveillance conducted by a drone deployed by the Fire Department, and the invaluable assistance provided by search-and-rescue dogs and the specialized cave rescue team (SAPR VVF).
