Winter lovers were sad to see ice sculptures go as officials demolished them due to rising temperatures.

The grand ice figures had to be removed before they could melt during the changing of the season after the Harbin Meteorological Observatory announced strong winds and warmer weather in Heilongjiang, China, on February 13.

Footage shows cranes and bulldozers being used to topple over frozen structures, such as a brick tower replica and a bridge.

Officials also ordered the shutdown of the popular Snowflake Ferris Wheel and Super Ice Slide for the next few months.

Heilongjiang province in northeastern China has long, frigid winters typically lasting from November through March.
