A snow plow operator miraculously escaped injury after their equipment tipped over the side of a parking ramp in Madison on Friday morning. The incident, which occurred on the 4800 block of Madison Yards Way, prompted a response from the Madison Fire Department and their Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT).

The operator of the telescopic handler was attempting to dump snow over the side of the ramp from the uppermost level when the equipment lost its balance and toppled over. Fortunately, the operator managed to climb out of a rear window and reach safety before emergency responders arrived. Despite being shaken up, the operator escaped unscathed and did not require medical treatment.

The MFD HURT team secured the telehandler to prevent it from falling further while Schmidt's Auto was called in to assist in safely removing the equipment from the precarious position. With a pile of snow strategically placed under the telehandler for leverage, Schmidt's successfully pulled the equipment back onto the surface of the parking ramp.
