A hungry customer dashed over to a cafe for lunch - but ran straight through the building's clear glass door.

Staff at the tea shop had polished the door making it so clean that the man, seemingly in a rush for his snack, was unable to see it was there.

The incident was captured on CCTV footage inside the milk tea store in the city of Ji'an in Jiangxi, China, at 7:46 pm on February 15.

In the video, the man, not named in local media, was seen running towards the entrance of the shop seemingly without noticing the glass door right in front of him.

He hit it head-first, causing it to shatter to pieces and fall to the ground. The staff inside the shop quickly helped him up and checked his condition.

Fortunately, he was unharmed and the employees were sitting far enough that they were not injured by the broken shards.

The shop owner later said that signs were already posted near the door handle but the young man had not seen them.

While the man who hit the door stated that even he could not help but laugh at himself when he saw the footage.
