Bizarre 'alien worm' found after heavy snow in Kashmir, India
A bizarre 'alien worm' was found after heavy snowfall in India.
The creature, which resembles a strand of thin hair, was discovered by residents wriggling in fresh snow in Kashmir.
Footage shows a baffled resident using a twig to carefully pick up the animal as his daughter expressed excitement at seeing the tiny worm slithering across the carpet of snow.
Resident Abdul Ghaffar, 70 said he was shocked to see the worm's length and the speed at which it was moving.
He said: 'Those are no are thin snakes. They fall with snow and I have been seeing them my entire life. I have seen them at one to two feet in length.'
Another local, Imran Ahmed, added: 'I thought it was a thin rope before I found it moving. It looked like an alien worm'
Wildlife enthusiast Ibrahim Muneer, 27, said the worms are rare, and only seen during snowfall.
He said: 'These tiny creatures make an appearance quite rarely. I am keen to do some research on them. As far as I know, they're not poisonous.'
