Rampaging Chinese tourist attacks police and threatens to undress in public 'after breaking up with boyfriend'
A rampaging Chinese tourist attacked police and threatened to undress in public after breaking up with her boyfriend in Thailand.
Zhang Yanxin, 34, caused chaos as she blocked motorists by lying down on a busy road in Krabi province on February 20.
Police arrived and found Zhang speaking to herself and ignoring them as they tried to communicate with her.
The female holidaymaker eventually agreed to be taken to the police station, but lost control upon arrival and began hurling objects inside the office.
She then rushed outside to block the road again, removing her shorts as panicked officers rushed to stop her from stripping completely naked.
Police dragged her into a cell to calm down, with Zhang chomping down on a cop's arm during the struggle.
The jilted girlfriend was later bound and strapped onto a stretcher to be taken to the Krabi Hospital.
Police Lieutenant Wiset Patchanee of Mueang Krabi Police Station said Zhang had earlier been admitted to a hospital as she had been acting erratically since that morning.
However, she continued her rampage after she was discharged.
Wiset said: 'The police were concerned for her safety and attempted to calm her down, but she became agitated and began throwing items at them.
'We learned through an interpreter that she is under stress after breaking up with her boyfriend because they argued while they were on holiday together. We believe the split has led to her erratic behaviour such as laughing, crying, and throwing tantrums.'
Police said they were coordinating with the Chinese Embassy for further action.
