Man Ejected In Crash During Police Pursuit in North Olmsted, USA
This footage was filmed and produced 18 February 2024.
A 30-year-old man is in custody after leading North Olmsted police on a chase near Great Northern Mall that ended in a crash with his one-year-old child in the car. The incident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 18 at around 5:27 p.m. when a police officer attempted to stop the man's Chrysler PT Cruiser for a license plate and brake light violation on Brookpark Road.
The driver, identified as Antoine L. Lindsey, refused to pull over and continued driving east on Brookpark Road. Just before reaching Clague Road, Lindsey lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over. He was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.
When officers checked on Lindsey's injuries, they discovered a one-year-old child in the back seat of the vehicle, still strapped into a car seat. The child did not appear to be injured but was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Lindsey was also taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Further investigation revealed that Lindsey had a suspended driver's license and was illegally in possession of a firearm. He now faces charges of Failure to Comply with Police Signal, Having Weapons Under Disability, and Endangering Children.
The North Olmsted Police Department commended the officers for their quick response and handling of the situation, ensuring the safety of the child involved in the incident.
