A resident showed her cleaning hack of wiping burned iron with painkiller tablets.

Anuttida Suttawong's appliance had black marks when she used it on a shirt but left the hot surface on for too long at her home in Chiang Mai province, Thailand.

To fix it, she put two paracetamol on the affected dark surface while it was turned on.

Footage shows Anuttida scraping the burn marks off with the blue medicine which she spread around tongs.

After the hot iron made contact with the tablet, Anuttida could easily scrape the black marks with a tissue.

She said: 'The black stains on iron can be removed with paracetamol.'

Paracetamol can help remove iron stains through a chemical reaction involving its ingredients.
