This is the heartwarming moment a pining pet dog ran over to her daddy as he returned from working abroad.

The toy Poodle named Chanel was separated from her owner Kienette Malagayo but was excited when they met each other again at the airport.

Footage shows Chanel rushing towards Kienette when she saw him arriving at the waiting area at General Santos International Airport in Koronadal City, the Philippines.

Kienette's girlfriend Shaira Gie Villagracia took care of the pooch while his boyfriend was away for several years.

She said: ‘The meet up of our fur baby and her daddy are always so touching.'

Many Filipinos work abroad, such is the lack of opportunities in their homeland. They are known as OFWs - Overseas Filipino Workers - and even have their own signage and passport gates at the airport in the capital Manila.
