In a daring water rescue operation, three individuals were saved from perilous conditions in the San Luis Obispo County area on Monday morning. The incident began when a car was reportedly trapped in the fast-moving waters of the San Marcos River at Wellsona Road, prompting a response from H-70. While fire personnel had already extricated the individual from the vehicle by the time H-70 arrived, the helicopter continued its patrol and soon located two more individuals in distress along the Salinas River in Paso Robles.

With the assistance of the Paso Robles City Fire Department, one victim was rescued by boat while a second victim was hoisted to safety by a Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT). A third victim was then reported to be stranded on a dry island north of the 13th street bridge, surrounded by rising water. H-70 swiftly deployed the HRT member, successfully completing a second hoist rescue using a rescue net.

All three victims were ultimately evaluated by fire personnel and appeared to be in good condition following the harrowing ordeal.
