Hotpot cinema sensation swept through major cities in China, redefining entertainment and dining experiences.

The videos filmed in Beijing, Chengdu City, Qingdao City, Changsha City, and Guangzhou City, shows people can enjoy both dining and movie-watching simultaneously in the hotpot cinema.

Introducing the "Hotpot Cinema," where every theatre offers the opportunity to reserve seats for currently showing films while indulging in a hotpot feast, providing a unique and immersive experience.

Inside what appears to be a conventional movie theatre, each seat is equipped with a table featuring an induction cooker, where diners can cook their chosen ingredients in a simmering pot of broth while the film plays on the big screen. This combination of feasting on hot pot delicacies while being engrossed in cinematic entertainment creates a distinctive ambiance.

Prior to the movie screening, staff arrange the hotpot ingredients on the tables according to reservations. Upon arrival, customers simply flip a switch to start their self-service hotpot experience.

As the movie begins, the theatre lights dim, but each table is equipped with two small night lights, ensuring that customers can still see their food and the hot pot without compromising their viewing experience.

To address concerns about the steam from the hot pots affecting the movie-watching experience, the theatres utilise smaller pots with less aromatic broths instead of traditional heavy butter bases. Additionally, the ceilings are fitted with multiple ventilation ducts to maintain air quality.

Despite the cooking activities, the theatres remain adequately lit, thanks to the combination of table lamps and the screen's illumination, minimising any disruptions from waitstaff attending to customers.

According to staff, while the decor resembles a traditional cinema, the establishment functions more like a restaurant, albeit with the added feature of a large screen for simultaneous dining and movie-watching.

They assure customers that as long as the restaurant adheres to fire safety standards, there are minimal safety concerns associated with this innovative dining experience.
