Sea foam is a natural phenomenon that occurs when organic matter in the ocean, such as algae, is broken down by bacteria through a process called decomposition. When the water is agitated, such as by waves crashing on the shore, air is mixed into the decomposing organic matter, creating bubbles and foam.Sea foam can indeed be more prevalent after a storm. Storms can churn up the ocean, increasing water agitation and mixing air into the water, which can contribute to the formation of sea foam. Additionally, storms can bring in organic matter, such as algae and seaweed, which provide the necessary material for foam production. The combination of increased ocean agitation, organic matter, and air mixing during and after a storm can lead to a higher concentration of sea foam along coastal areas.
