Residents Forced to Flee as Floods Damage Homes in Madre de Dios, Peru

On February 21st, a flood occurred due to the overflow of the Acre River, damaging homes in the town center and district of Inapari in the province of Tahuamanu.
The provincial municipality has set up tents in a park in the area for affected individuals to stay overnight. The Regional Directorate of INDECI is providing technical assistance to authorities for response actions. There have been no reports of damages to the lives and health of the population. Damage assessment is currently underway.
The National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) is monitoring the situation.
