Peruvian Police Rescue Sloth from Near Death on Highway in Campoverde, Peru

Police in Peru recently saved a sloth that was in danger of being hit by a truck on a highway in Campoverde. A video posted online on February 22 shows officers from the National Police of Peru stopping a truck before it could reach the sloth and lifting the animal to safety.
According to the police, the officers from the Campo Verde Highway Protection Detachment noticed the sloth attempting to cross the road at Km 27 of the Federico Basadre Highway. Concerned for the animal's safety, the officers quickly intervened and safely returned the sloth to the bushes.
The sloth was fortunate to have been spotted by the vigilant police officers and is now back in its natural habitat, safe from harm.
