An escaped bull stuck in a pond was rescued in Colorado.

Footage shows the bovine in distress, standing by the muddy banks as police discussed their course of action in Jefferson County on February 22.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene near the intersection of Colorado Highway 93 and 82nd Avenue after the bull escaped from a nearby property.

Fairmount Fire, Arvada Fire, and Jefferson County Animal Control all worked together to assist in the rescue operation. The bull was eventually able to be led to stable ground where it could safely walk out of the pond.

The bull, which was kept as a pet by its owner, was returned safely afterwards.
