A zoo visitor sparked an outrage by pouring goat milk into a black bear's mouth in northern China.

The video was filmed in Dandong City in Liaoning Province on February 25.

Witnesses reported that the milk, poured from a mineral water bottle brought in from outside, was touted by the man as beneficial for the bear, claiming that anyone could drink goat milk and that it aids in nutrient absorption.

Zoo officials swiftly responded, reassuring the public that the health of the black bear was not compromised.

While they acknowledged the occasional act of kindness from visitors who wish to feed the animals, they emphasised the presence of clear signs prohibiting such actions. Every area of the zoo is monitored by caretakers, who intervene whenever they witness visitors attempting to feed the animals.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
