China's tallest building summit was frozen over in a spectacular icy encounter amid a cold wave.

Rare video filmed in Shanghai on February 23, shows the top of the Shanghai Tower being frozen, with the building and ground covered in frost, reminiscent of scenes from a Chinese movie "The Wandering Earth."

The management of the Shanghai Tower stated that the area is an outdoor space and is not open to visitors.

On February 26th, citizens once again discovered that the outer walls of the Shanghai Tower's rooftop were covered in snow and ice, turning it into a "snow-capped cafe."

According to staff from the Property Management Control Centre of the Shanghai Tower, Shanghai has experienced a cold wave in recent days, with low temperatures and high humidity.

The average temperature on the rooftop of the Shanghai Tower is around -5 degrees Celsius, leading to natural phenomena such as icing and snow accumulation, with the outer walls being particularly affected.

As the temperature rises, the icy areas on the rooftop will gradually melt, and there may be instances of ice and snow falling. For safety reasons, unsheltered areas and sections of roads below have been cordoned off to prevent pedestrians and vehicles from passing through.

Data shows that the Shanghai Tower is located at 501 Yincheng Middle Road, Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone, Shanghai. It is a giant landmark skyscraper in Shanghai, China's tallest building and the world's third tallest.

Construction began on November 29, 2008, and the overall construction work was completed on March 12, 2016. The main uses of the Shanghai Tower include offices, hotels, commercial spaces, and sightseeing facilities, with the main building having 127 floors and a height of 632 metres above ground.
