Malaysian sea otters that emerged on a holiday island in the Philippines were fed by tourists.

Footage shows the raft of wild marine mammals swimming in the shallow part of the beach, appearing unafraid of people nearby in Tawi-Tawi province's Turtle Islands on February 23.

The animals approached an island-hopper who offered them tails of a freshly-caught fish.

They lingered around for a while on the beach, enjoying the snacks that they were given before leaving the island together.

Tourist Rodney Gumahad said: ‘It was my first time to see sea otters. It was an amazing experience.'

Local authorities said the sea otters spotted that day on Turtle Islands swam through the sea from neighbouring country Malaysia.
