Try this home hack to clean a burned iron's metal plate using medicine.

Footage shows Anuttida Suttawong putting three paracetamol tablets onto the hot plate and rubbing them against the darkened part with a stick in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on February 18.

There was smoke, and the pills slowly melted, clearing the burned parts as they did.

She repeated the process until the iron was clear of the stain and wiped it smooth again using old jeans.

She said: 'Get rid of the black stains on your iron like it was brand new using my trick.'

Paracetamol can help remove iron stains through a chemical reaction involving its ingredients like p-aminophenol, which is considered a weak reducing agent. A reducing agent causes a chemical reduction reaction by donating an electron to another substance in the reaction.
