Over 17,000 tons of goods have been shipped through the air cargo route linking China's coastal city of Xiamen and Sao Paulo in Brazil since its opening in last February, according to Xiamen Customs.
The cargo route is China's first designated e-commerce air link with BRICS countries. During the past year, the route has operated over 230 round-trip flights.
SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): CHEN WUCHAO, General manager of a trade company
"The opening of this route greatly reduces logistics costs for enterprises, so more sellers can have their brands go overseas and more China-made products can go global."
Xiamen Customs has carried out all-day operations and provided policy support to relevant enterprises on this route, effectively reducing the customs clearance time and improving logistics efficiency.
SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese) LI JIE, Manager of a logistic company
"Taking advantage of Xiamen airport's direct international cargo routes and Xiamen Customs' all-day operation services, we can ensure the quality of the fresh fruits."
