SOUNDBITE (English): LUIGI GAMBARDELLA, President of the ChinaEU
"It's incredible to see how many Chinese companies and Chinese people are here (MWC) present. This shows us a Mobile World Congress without Chinese will not be a Mobile World Congress.
Chinese telecom operators and more and more, in general, Chinese high-tech companies, they never stop. They are always looking ahead and trying to innovate. For sure, China is already thinking about the future of 6G generation. I think in this respect, there are many areas where European companies and Chinese company could try to cooperate.
The interesting thing is even we may have different ideas, we need more international cooperation, because the international cooperation allows us to have an exchange of view, allows us to have a better understanding of each other.
Chinese companies in many fields are leading the way. I think it would be interesting for many European companies also to work in China together to develop new products and service for the Chinese market. I think in this area, I see many opportunities in front of us."

The MWC, the technology industry's largest connectivity ecosystem event, opened in Barcelona on Monday, drawing a total of 2,400 exhibitors, including around 300 Chinese telecommunications companies.
