STORYLINE:

Rural museums have been sprouting across northeast China's Jilin Province under local government support since 2016.

Based on its diversified local cultures, Jilin has built a total of 91 rural museums in a move to boost rural revitalization, as well as enriching rural residents' life.

"The sika deer museum mainly demonstrates the over 300 years' development history of local deer breeding industry. The original intention of building this museum is to preserve the cultural roots of Shuangyang, and to boost the development of sika deer industry with the power of culture."

"We have built a total of 27 museums (in Shuangyang District of Changchun City) since 2016, including 20 rural museums. Rural museums are integrated into the production and life of farmers, offering them some cultural and recreational activities so that they can have a place for leisure and entertainment after meals and deepen their understanding of local history."
