On February 22nd, in Bozhou, southern China, the snow-covered roads made travel difficult. However, a brother and sister elegantly navigated the terrain by riding ostriches and carrying wooden sticks.

Mr. Shao, the father of the siblings, explained that he operates an ostrich breeding farm in Kantuan Town, Lixin County, with over 100 ostriches. Riding the ostriches were his daughter and son. Mr. Shao's son, aged 12, mentioned that he has been riding ostriches since he was nine years old, boasting three years of "riding experience." Initially apprehensive, he now rides with confidence.

Well-trained ostriches provide a stable ride, thanks to the thick calluses on their feet that provide traction on slippery surfaces. Riders control the ostriches' direction by using wooden sticks to guide their necks.

Mr. Shao emphasized that ostriches can carry up to 200 kilograms, meeting the riding needs of most visitors. Nowadays, many tourist attractions offer ostrich riding as an entertainment activity, and a domesticated mature ostrich would value at over 10,000 yuan(about 1398USD).
