A freight train named "Wulingshan" departed from Xiushan Station, southwest China's Chongqing on Wednesday.
It marked the first freight train setting off from the southeastern region of Chongqing via China-Europe Railway Express (CRE).
Loaded with commodities such as hand-made lanterns, the train will arrive in Moscow via Horgos, China's Xinjiang.
It accelerates the cooperation between the neighboring regions of Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou with Europe, injecting impetus into regional economic development.
