After a grueling 10-month deployment to the Horn of Africa, combat medic Spc. Jack Vogel experienced a heartwarming reunion with his loyal companion, Denver, on February 22, 2024, at the Army Aviation Support Facility.
Vogel, who served with the Nebraska Army National Guard’s Co. A, 2-134th Infantry (Airborne), was separated from his beloved dog Denver during his overseas mission. However, the long months of separation came to an end as Vogel returned home to Lincoln, Nebraska, marking a joyous moment for both soldier and canine.
The emotional reunion was captured as Spc. Jack Vogel embraced Denver, his faithful companion, at the Army Aviation Support Facility. Vogel's deployment with the task force in the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility was part of a broader mission to ensure security across multiple locations in the Horn of Africa.
