STORYLINE:
Hezbollah and Israel continued Wednesday their daily exchange of fire across the Lebanon-Israel border.
Hezbollah media unit for its part said that the resistance party shelled the Mairoun air base and the settlement of Kiryat Shemona.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah official Sheikh Nabil Qaouq said that Monday marked a "new phase in the confrontation" with Israel.
Qaouk's remarks came during the funeral of a Hezbollah fighter killed Monday in a targeted drone strike in Majadel in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army said the field commander in the Hujair Valley region was responsible for carrying out rocket attacks on northern Israel.
